Overview

You will work on networking equipment that range from our IoT edge devices to Enterprise Branch edge devices. In your role as a Manager, you will lead a dynamic team and participate in the process of defining product roadmaps. Cradlepoint engineering works as small teams and as the leader of the Networking team you will shape the networking featuresets for Cradlepoint. Your skills will shine through when you successfully motivate the engineers and managers within your team to deliver high-quality products/features on time, every time. You will be interacting and working closely with some of the finest talent pool in the industry – where you will find that work is both fun and challenging. This position directly reports to the SVP of Engineering of Cradlepoint.


 

Responsibilities

Who You Are

Delivering products of excellent quality combined with effectively leading a bright group of engineers is what drives you. To ensure this, you have a thorough understanding of distributed/centralized hardware architectures of routers/switches. Your concepts are strong and you have a good knowledge of L2, L3, and WAN protocols and forwarding/switching infrastructure. You possess the necessary skills to work in a highly collaborative, inclusive, and agile atmosphere in partnership with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 12-15 years, with 3-5 years as people manager.
  • Masters degree in CS/EE/EC or technical equivalent with a minimum of 3 years experience as a Director of Software engineering
  • Experience with Linux/FreeBSD routing stacks
  • Expertise in using Unix/Linux development tools, and Linux virtualization.
  • Experience in network processor programming, POSIX thread programming.
  • Excellent knowledge of TCP/IP fundamentals, multicast protocols, L2 switching technologies, WiFi protocols, SDN controller, Openflow, IPSec
  • Proven ability to ship Enterprise products in Routing/Switching
  • Excellent written and verbal communication Skills
  • Proven ability to manage diverse remote teams including ability to work in offshore environments
  • Industry certificates, such as CCIE, CCNP, etc. are desirable as well as experience in a startup.
