The Technical Marketing Engineering Role plays a vital role as part of the product management team to drive technical strategy and customer adoption of Cradlepoint solutions. Aiding our field and partner SE organizations is critical with the objective of helping those teams scale their knowledge of CP products, services and technologies.


This role is highly visible with the CP field, partners and customers. This candidate for this role, as the first TME, should come from a senior technical role with related experience. This initial TME at CP will establish the role of a TME within CP and develop the best practices that future TME’s will follow.


This role is ideally in Boise, but will consider the Bay Area for the right candidate.


  • Architecting Networking Solutions – Designing the networking topology, confirmation, best practices to support common customer use cases.
  • Field Training – help build content and curriculum to train internal and partner field personnel
  • Application Notes / White Papers / Technical Solution Guides – Build content
  • Provide Assistance to CP Support – For High Profile Escalated Customer Support Cases, provide assistance in customer facing communications
  • Validation Testing – Provide Hands On Testing of New Products, Services and Solutions in both the Prototype Stage as well as final validation on market readiness
  • Product Beta Programs – Manage Customer Beta Programs to define the test criteria, customer qualification, and early customer engagements
  • Competitive Analysis – Conduct Competitive analysis in the categories of functionality, performance and usability
  • Feature Requirement Writing and Refinement – Work with counterpart Product Managers to define and refine product requirements
  • Drive the development of compelling technology and product demonstrations – Determine how to showcase CP technology in various demo environments: Online, live NCM demos, trade shows, corp all hands meetings, Executive Briefing Center, etc.
  • Develop Trial Process Success Criteria – Help determine and document the success criteria for repeatable, customer product trials and PoCs
  • Performance Testing Definition – Determine the criteria that CP solution test teams needs develop test cases and develop the field and customer faces content to communicate the results
  • Technical Decision Maker (TDM) Presentations – Develop technical presentation used by the CP field and partners to educate customers.
  • Solution Creation – Work with product managers who engage with third party vendors in creating a combined solution with CP products and services (example: AVL solutions used with CP mobile routers)
  • Customer Engagements – Engage with the CP field on strategic customer accounts in the sales process
  • Tradeshows and Market Events – Attend tradeshows representing the Product Team
  • Engagements with the SEVTs – Play a critical role with the SEVTs in driving technical feature requirements, customer topologies, and educating SEVT members



  • S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related technical field
  • 8+ years of technical experience in networking including customer facing responsibilities
  • In-depth understanding of networking, LTE, WLAN, Security
  • Strong knowledge of core routing/switching protocols such as OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, ISIS, STP, 802.1q.
  • CCIE/CCNP or equivalent certification is desired.
  • Strong existing knowledge of Cradlepoint products
  • Must be able to demonstrate confidence in architecture, engineering, operations, and security discussions
  • Proven ability to understand complex and in-depth level technical situations, related business challenges, and be able to communicate strategies for effective solutions.
  • Excellent communications skills and comfort/experience presenting
  • Ability to distill complex technical concepts into understandable language
  • Knowledge of network virtualization, multi-tenant infrastructure, VxLAN, LISP, TrustSec technologies, in addition to standard routing/switching/wireless protocols.
