  • Overview

    The North America Sales Engineering Leader directs the sales engineering/pre-sales support team, providing advice and consultative support during the sale of complex technical products complemented by a forward looking strategy to increase market share.  This will include a focus on team professional and technical development, and support of our strategic partner motions to scale revenue. 


    The Sales Engineering Leader is responsible for managing a team of Sales Engineers who assist sales requiring a high level of technical knowledge and acumen for technical leadership while driving a strong partner ecosystem. 


    • Oversee a team that provides in-depth demonstration of products, creates custom solutions to customer problems, provides technical responses for RFPs or RFQs, and enables our partner community.
    • Assign Sales Engineers to products, accounts, and partners based on individual expertise and territory.
    • Develop meaningful executive technical relationships which includes contribution to high-level sales calls, oversight of complex trials, and fostering mindshare with our key partner stakeholders.
    • Drive engagement of new and existing customers with post-sales to ensure that post-sales customer support or implementation services will meet customer expectations.
    • Develop Sales Engineers to ensure creation and delivery of powerful presentations and demos that clearly communicate the uniqueness of the value proposition while fostering overall professional and technical development of individuals on the team.
    • Effectively communicate and prioritize client needs to the Product teams for future product enhancements
    • Oversee the collection and documentation of competitive intelligence for market intelligence.


    • Bachelor’s degree supported by 8+ years of managing sales engineering teams;
    • Demonstrated experience in a complex sales environment;
    • Ability to forge strong, long-lasting relationships with senior executives at partners and customers;
    • Ability to creatively explain and present complex concepts in an easy to understand manner;
    • Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in one or more of the following:  routing, security, wireless, and/or devops;
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
    • Confident self-starter with integrity and accountability; a track record of consistent achievement;
    • A strong aptitude for business strategy and excellent collaboration skills;  
    • Decisive problem-solving ability and capability to assess people and situations with accuracy;
    • Ability to deliver a clear and compelling value proposition to customers/partners;
    • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, start-up, team-oriented environment;
    • Demonstrated organizational and leadership behaviors.
