    The Software Development Engineer will develop and maintain automation tools for our Operations Warehouse production processes to enhance product quality, improve process efficiency and support data-driven decision-making.

     

    Cradlepoint is seeking an energetic and highly motivated individual to join us. A strong computer science or computer engineering background with SW development of production processes and tools is key to being successful in this position. The Software Development Engineer will be responsible for developing manufacturing validation systems and processes for routers, modems, and electronic accessories in our Operations department. The success of these systems is largely determined by their ease of use, effectiveness, and ability to eliminate potential errors. The Software Development Engineer will work collaboratively within Operations with the manufacturing and RMA teams. This position will also liaise with R&D Engineering teams during application development, to provide efficient and effective system solutions.     Responsibilities

    • Be a team member responsible for developing stable and efficient applications for Operation and Production processes
    • Design, develop, test, deploy and maintain highly-available, scalable, and secure applications based on requirements as defined by Operations processes and quality objectives
    • Responsible for full lifecycle application development
    • Support continuous production improvements via performance tuning, functional maintenance, usability and automation of systems
    • Identify and evaluate new technologies for implementation
    • Support, maintain and document software architecture and functionality
    • Work with IS team to building functional quality measures into Ops processes

    Qualifications

    • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
    • Proficient in Object Oriented Design and Design Patterns
    • Experience with Python and JavaScript is a plus
    • Experience with Unix/Linux development environments, fluent in at least one application language
    • Knowledge and use of network devices, such as routers, switches, etc.
    • Ability to work successfully with non-technical people
    • Ability to respond quickly and accurately to diverse requests

     

    Education & Experience: 

    • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience
    • Software development experience required, coding in Python is preferred
    • Familiarity with Windows and Linux is required
    • Experience with web application and / or database development is preferred
    • Industry experience in production validation development is preferred
    • Full Stack application development experience is a plus
    • Version Control (git) and bug tracking (Jira/Confluence) experience is a plus
    • Experiencing interacting with ERP systems is a plus, especially Microsoft Dynamics
    • Experience with continuous improvement and problem-solving methodologies is a plus
