    Cradlepoint is seeking an energetic, highly motivated, and experienced individual to join us as a Sustaining Engineer. The Sustaining Engineer will lead support efforts for Cradlepoint products that have been formally released to Operations to ensure ongoing product quality. They will work to successfully transition new products from R&D to Operations. They will lead the analysis of RMA field failures. They will work closely with Operations, R&D, and Support to use that information to identify current issues and drive product improvements.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide direct product lifecycle support for released products
    • Lead and support change management activities across Cradlepoint and our supply chain
    • Provide support in solving hardware quality problems with existing products
    • Interface with the R&D Engineering team to coordinate new product hand-off to Operations
    • Lead and manage the RMA Technician team in troubleshooting efforts of failing RMA product from the field
    • Provide Operational guidance to R&D in the development of products to support efficient and effective design, test, and packaging to support Operations financial and quality metrics
    • Provide direct and indirect support for resolution of customer and internal issues
    • Support continuous process/product improvement efforts across Operations

    Qualifications

    • Strong organizational and interpersonal with the ability to work in cross-functional teams
    • Evidence of strong problem-solving skills including identifying problems and creating solutions
    • Demonstratable understanding of electrical and mechanical concepts
    • Ability to work and communicate with foreign-based suppliers
    • Ability to respond quickly and accurately to diverse requests
    • Committed to developing, improving and documenting processes
    • Willingness to step into any task in support of the group

    Education & Experience:

    • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
    • Previous experience of 5 years of experience in manufacturing or operations is preferred for this position
    • Previous experience in managing direct reports is desired
    • Experience in project management or product development process is preferred
    • Hardware electronics testing, troubleshooting, and circuit analysis experience is preferred
    • Experience with RF/wireless technology and computer networking is a plus
    • Experience working with continuous improvement and problem-solving methodologies is a plus
