Overview

Cradlepoint is seeking a motivated individual for a Tax Accountant position to assist with all aspects of corporate tax. The Tax Accountant will play an integral role in Indirect Tax compliance processes relevant to the national and international operations of a fast-paced dynamic growth company and also be an essential part of the US federal, state and international income tax compliance and reporting process. The Tax Accountant will also act as a trusted resource to the Acccounting and Finance teams as needed. This position is essential for the success of the Company's continued goal of creating an industry wide best-in-class tax function. The importance/value derived includes: increased risk management (necessary as a result of domestic growth and international expansion), cash tax savings (through further process improvement and proactive tax planning), and enabled responsiveness to Federal, State and Local, and International legislation.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with Federal, State/Local income tax and franchise tax compliance processes, including preparation of workpapers, completing online payments and extension filings
  • Preparing and maintaining schedules and workpapers required for US Federal Income Tax returns and Foreign Income Tax returns
  • Prepare book to tax calculations for quarterly and year-end tax provision
  • Research tax issues as required from time to time and monitor relevant legislation for potential changes in tax compliance requirements
  • Assist with Indirect Tax compliance processes including US Sales and Use Tax, US Local Property Tax, foreign VAT, and Canadian GST/Sales Tax, with a focus on automation where possible
  • Monitor new indirect tax registration requirements and complete as needed. Ensure that a process is in place to ensure compliance going forward for the new locations
  • Assist in numerous special projects with outside providers
  • Assist Accounting and Finance teams with monthly close process
  • Research and timely respond to tax notices
  • Maintain assets for tax depreciation
  • Prepare tax account reconciliations

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or related field, CPA preferred
  • At least one year of tax experience in public accounting and/or industry preferred
  • Desire to learn multiple tax areas
  • Ability to interpret and apply technical tax and financial reporting requirements
  • Strong analytical/problem solving skills
  • Excellent tax technical research and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail with consistent accuracy
  • Willingness to assist accounting/finance teams as asked
