Cradlepoint is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to be responsible for driving and owning the mechanical design of Cradlepoint products. Cradlepoint has a broad portfolio of products with worldwide demand; this role will challenge the successful candidate to help Cradlepoint grow and meet our aggressive targets, in addition to ensuring our designs are world-class in terms of look, feel, thermal performance, and mechanical performance. Cradlepoint's market includes in-vehicle networks and mobile LTE- and 5G-enabled routers, distributed enterprise branch LTE- and 5G-enabled routers, LTE/5G failover devices, and LTE/5G IoT products.  

•  Designs mechanical and electromechanical products and systems by developing specifications and testing methods
• Evaluates mechanical and electromechanical systems and products by designing and conducting research programs and applying principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer, and materials
• Confirms system and product capabilities by designing and/or specifying feasibility and testing methods and properties
• Develops mechanical and electromechanical products by working with product management to understand customer requirements; researching and testing manufacturing and assembly methods and materials; and working with overseas design manufacturers to implement Cradlepoint electro-mechanical network routing platforms
• Reviews and approves mechanical proposals, designs, and prototypes for compliance to device specifications
• Acts as the mechanical and industrial engineering subject matter expert for the Cradlepoint hardware engineering team
• Collaborates directly with ODM partners, internal engineers and product management to drive to approval for Mass Production of new products

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (Master’s preferred)
• 5+ years of experience working in the mechanical engineering field
• Superior computer skills, with solid experience in CAD and/or CAM
• Industrial Design (desired)
• Experience working with overseas ODMs on commercial and/or enterprise class products
• Mechanical Design, Specification, and Test Documentation
• Thermal Design, Specification, and Test Documentation
• Keen mechanical attention to detail to ensure all mechanical designs meet and exceed product specifications
• Ability to engage/consult/design on multiple electro-mechanical projects simultaneously
• Presenting and communicating technical information
• Quality/reliability focus
